Consultative Bodies
AFM is advised by consultative bodies (the Scientific Council and the Financial Committee). The scientific council This has existed since 1981, and is composed of volunteer scientists and doctors who are recognised experts in their fields. Its role is to evaluate the scientific content of projects submitted to the AFM and to advise the Board of Directors, who makes the final decision. It also proposes possible research themes and makes a priori and a posteriori evaluations of the scientific quality of the projects. In particular, it advises during the evaluation of projects following Calls for Proposals. > Members of the fifth scientific council. The financial committeeIs composed of independant volunteer advisers ; it advises the Board of Directors on the financial management of the Association. Generally, it assures that finances are balanced between resources and employment expenditure by ensuring that its commitments do not compromise this balance over the long term.
