AFM determines its strategies and implements them in collaboration with more than 400 public and private partners, French and foreign, to progress towards a cure and the reduction of disability. The Association has developed structures and supports them by participating in the elaboration of their strategies. Genethon : a key strategic tool for developing curesCreated in 1990 by AFM with Telethon donations, Genethon started as an innovative laboratory combining genomics, robotics and computer science. In less than 3 years, Genethon created the first maps of the human genome, which were subsequently made available to the international scientific community. Today, Genethon is dedicated to the development of gene therapy strategies and tools. The laboratory is also reinforcing its research activities on stem cells. Genethon not only provides vectors for laboratories, but it has the means to collaborate in clinical research programs.
