A general strategy
In 2007 the AFM committed 66 million euros to its Curing Diseases mission which was shared out as follows : > research into and development of therapies : 35 million euros > Généthon laboratory : 21.2 million euros > Institute of Myology : 7.2 million euros > I-Stem : 2.7 million euros
Focus : Research and development into therapies (apart from Généthon, Institute of Myology and I-Stem) – 35 million euros, shared out as follows :
> Academic partnerships (Nantes site, Pasteur Institute, GIS/ANR, Paris Hospital Authority, Inserm, CNRS, Génopole, Imagine Foundation, Treat-NMD network) : 8.6 million euros > International partnerships (University of Pennsylvania, USA; Laval University, Canada; Tremblay Programme) : 2.2 million euros > Calls for tender : 11.7 million euros > Industrial cooperation programmes (various French and foreign biotechnological companies) : 8.6 million euros > Partnerships with associations (Vaincre la Mucoviscidose – Conquer Cystic Fibrosis, IRME, San Filippo Alliance) : 1.1 million euros > Others 2.8 million euros
